Okay, so here it is, our first house. We are in the process of fixing a ton of stuff - new appliances, new counter top, new faucets, painted the ktichen cabinets & doors, painted all walls, new baseboard, replacing all switches and outlets (they ALL had paint all over them), and major landscaping changes including a new shed, gutting the back yard, and restoring what once was a driveway..
This entire place was a total disaster. When we took posession the woman who owned it before had not cleaned or anything, and left a ton of garbage behind. Our realtor paid a cleaning company for us to clean it as she was so disgusted. It took nearly 20 man hours to clean!! (thankfully not on our dime).
Now its up to us to make it our own. I have posted the "before" pictures as many of you are curious to see what it looks like, and I will post the after shots as we complete various tasks.

Its looking MUCH better now - its all been repainted and the wall repaired. We've also added new 5" baseboards. Looks great.

What an awesome before kitchen...
Not going to show you that space to the left in the afters just yet, as it is not finished yet.. Its painted and there is baseboard, but the floor and ceiling have not been delt with yet. |

 We've painted the walls, paitned the cabinets and doors white, and bought appliances. The counters were also replaced and look awesome. New kitchen faucet and new light fixtures too.
We also moved the cabinet above the stove up a few inches and added a range microwave, big improvement there, and the raised cabinet makes it look like a more modern kitchen.
Also, we did all the labour, no hired help on this (or anything).

It took 2 small tubs of filler and a lot of sanding, but it looks great now!
That lino floor will be replaced with tile in the fall, with a new, proper transition piece.

ALL of the fixtures, switches, and thermostats were painted over. in this case there was even left over painters tape!

Swapped out all thermostats - even these cheapy $10 replacements look way better.

its been cleaned up, adn a new washer dryer lives here now. The hole in the wall was cut square and cleaned up, and is awaiting a filler piece of drywall to be put in - we have the piece, just havent got to it yet.

Trim is going to be painted - not sure what color yet - and the driveway is in the process of being restored - but lots of digging. the original driveway was burried under 6 inches of dirt, rock and grass. Why? Who knows, but its coming along now.
